چکیده

Abstract Background Diagnosis of tumour thrombosis and differentiating it from benign are essential for managing patients, planning treatments, minimising unneeded anticoagulation therapy. Bland thrombi occur in both cancer non-cancer patients; bland can coexist. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F - FDG PET/CT) is useful detecting diagnosing distinguishing thrombosis. Objective This study’s aim was to assess the value 18F PET/CT malignant portal vein (PVT) liver cirrhosis patients. Methods A retrospective study conducted on 38 patients who had PVT that histopathologically confirmed performed 18F- scans at our institute between January 2021 April 2022. For all sociodemographic data, visual analysis, semiqualitative analysis (SUV max value), associated hepatic pathology were collected. Results The SUV values significantly higher group (6.26 ± 1.94), compared (1.79 0.69), ( P < 0.001). ROC curve ) revealed a sensitivity 96.3% specificity 36.4%, area under 0.827 with > 3.5 as pathological cut-off distinguish thrombi. Conclusions By using valuable new technique neoplastic PV thrombi, optimal SUVmax criterion.

FDG-avid portal vein tumor thrombosis from hepatocellular carcinoma in contrast-enhanced FDG PET/CT

Objective(s): In this study, we aimed to describe the characteristics of portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT), complicating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in contrast-enhanced FDG PET/CT scan. Methods: In this retrospective study, 9 HCC patients with FDG-avid PVTT were diagnosed by contrast-enhanced fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT), which is a comb...

The Role of 18F-FDG PET/CT Integrated Imaging in Distinguishing Malignant from Benign Pleural Effusion

OBJECTIVE The aim of our study was to evaluate the role of 18F-FDG PET/CT integrated imaging in differentiating malignant from benign pleural effusion. METHODS A total of 176 patients with pleural effusion who underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT examination to differentiate malignancy from benignancy were retrospectively researched. The images of CT imaging, 18F-FDG PET imaging and 18F-FDG PET/CT integr...

Diffusion-Weighted MRI of Malignant versus Benign Portal Vein Thrombosis

OBJECTIVE To validate the diffusion-weighted MRI (DWI) for differentiation of benign from malignant portal vein thrombosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS The Institutional Review Board approved this retrospective study and waived informed consent. A total of 59 consecutive patients (52 men and 7 women, aged 40-85 years) with grossly defined portal vein thrombus (PVT) on hepatic MRI were retrospective...

Distinguishing benign from malignant gallbladder wall thickening using FDG-PET.

OBJECTIVE Because thickening of the gallbladder wall is observed not only in patients with gallbladder cancer but also in those with benign diseases such as chronic cholecystitis and gallbladder adenomyosis, it is difficult to distinguish between benign and malignant gallbladder wall thickening by conventional techniques of diagnostic imaging such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance...
